16 year old Evie works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she's just a normal teenage girl. Her parent's abandoned her when she was just 3 years old and then she spent a few years in the foster care system. When she was 8, she was brought to the Agency and she's been under the director, Raquel's care ever since. Evie has a special power she can see through glamours of all kinds of paranormals, faeries, vampires, werewolves, you name it. Because of this she's kind of important to the Agency and she gets the royal treatment. One night after she's busted a vampire, she comes home to get some rest and then there's an alarm. The alarm means that she's supposed to stay where she's at, which happens to be in her room, but she gets curious and goes to investigate. She creeps to Raquel's office and what she finds seems crazy, what appears to be Raquel is going through some files, the person pretending to be Raquel has no idea that Evie can see through glamours, so they talk to her just as if they were Raquel, but Evie's not fooled. Evie can see there's something under there, but she can't tell just what the person is. The person almost appears to be the invisible outline of a person, but Evie doesn't really have the time to worry about what the person is, because pretty soon she will be given an answer to a question that will rock her whole world. This was an awesome book! I really enjoyed it, it's just what a young adult novel should be. It was basically clean, very little swearing (I loved how this was handled with the heroin saying "bleep" whenever she wanted to swear, you'll have to read it to know why), full of action, and of course all the vampires and mythical creatures!
